One of my latest paintings inspired by my Father's stories of being born in South Africa, and also my memories of my Great Aunt recounting her "safaris"---This painting as seen through a child's eyes!
~~~ Hi, Thanks for dropping by to look at my Art!
I am a New Zealand Artist, and I have always painted and drawn for as long as I can remember.
After working with oils I wanted to discover acrylics, and set out to teach myself how to use their special properties. I love the instant effects acrylic paints give, the way they dry quickly and the challenges of keeping the washes and colours alive.
I've always been inspired by our New Zealand scenery, and in my pictures I like to add the little quirky touches known as "kiwiana", so sometimes it's a brilliant blue-green pauashell,smooth stones, spindly cabbage tree or sea-bleached kina. Or sometimes just the seascape or landscape speaks for itself.
Enjoy having a browse through!
